Bold Colors and Fringe at Gucci

   It's easy to fall in love with Gucci's 2011 ready to wear collection. Frida Gianini brought glamour back and has wowed us with amazing pieces. At the beginning of the show, strong colors such as teal, orange, blue and purple were combined creating bold and fun looks. Asymmetrical and plunging necklines were tied up with a chunky gold belt with tassels.

   A safari theme was evident and tastefully presented after the color blocking looks left the runway. The colors were beige, gold and brown tones. The pants had a dropped crotch and were loose fitting around the hips and slimmer on the lower leg. At this time, the tassels were not only on the belts, but also included lace up details. Very chic!

 The evening looks finished the show and did not disappoint. The show featured black outfits with heavy use of fringe detailing to the skirts, shirts and accessories. Leather was also used to add a glamorous edge to the black looks head-to-toe.

   The bold colors were back  at the end of the show in fringed little dresses. Some had feathers and were accented with gold. They looked very expensive with beautiful intricate design details.

I'll finish it up with a few quotes of Gucci's head designer and creative director Frida Giannini.

"I don’t think that being innovative means making only strange or weird things that you would never see in the street.

"I am not an
artist.
I am not doing a
 performance;

 I'm doing things
that need to be
sold.

 And I know my
job"
